Description

Sam’s enthusiasm for history will take you back to an era that, as FDR coined; “Will live in infamy.” The Commemorative Air Force Minnesota Wing in St. Paul is where you’ll be welcome to: Climb into one or all six aircraft (including a replica of the Miss Mitchell, a B-25 bomber), take a ride in one of the WWII motor pool fleet vehicles and view a unique collection of World War II artifacts on display. Coupled with an up-close and personal view of military aircraft, museum display cases and motor pool vehicles, Sam will ply your inner historian with little-known or well-known facts about this infamous war. If it’s a clear day you might just also get to watch a historic airplane take wing.

Erik's Ranch, Inc. is a 501(c)3 non-profit organization that provides employment opportunities for young adults with autism. All tours are led by young adults with autism. Thank you for believing in all that those with autism can do.

At 1:00 PM, meet at Erik's Retreat, located in Edina at 3420 Heritage Drive. You may park either on the street, or in our complimentary lot, which is west of the Retreat, and labeled with a white "Heritage of Edina" sign. Sam will greet you inside the lobby of the Retreat, and you will have the opportunity to view our guest rooms. Then, buckle up for a ride to Saint Paul in our luxury limousine. Bottled water will be provided.

Arrive at the Commemorative Air Force Museum (CAF) in Saint Paul around 1:30 PM, and Sam will guide you through stories surrounding the showcased authentic memorabilia, and discuss a poignant mural that displays the key battles of WWII. Then, walk through the restored aircrafts, and watch some of these planes take flight!

Guests will leave the CAF by 2:30 PM, and return to Erik's Retreat by 3:00 PM.
